This is a soft brown vintage blazer with red buttons by Kenzo Studio. Cool peaked lapels. The round red buttons add that extra thing we expect from Kenzo. Two front pockets, cut slightly on the diagonal. Fully lined. 96% wool, 4% nylon. Made in China.

Kenzo Takada was born in Himeji, Japan on Feb. 27, 1939. Bored at university, he dropped out and went to Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo. After graduating, he moved to Paris (1964) and went to work on his career. Success came in the early ’70s. The Kenzo label launched in 1970 when, according to Vogue, “Kenzo Takada staged his first show…in Paris…and the label became known for its ethnic-inspired looks and vibrant use of color.” Mr. Takada retired in 1999, but his assistants continued the brand. In 2011 Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, the founders of Opening Ceremony, became the creative directors of Kenzo. There was an h&m x Kenzo collab. You may recall that Taylor Swift was accused of copying a 2016 Kenzo perfume ad in her “Delicate” video. Kevin and Eniko Hart named their son Kenzo. www.kenzo.com
