The V-neck is threaded with a tie string that can be made into a bow or left hanging, and the neck and cuffs are accented with a beautiful lace trim. The ribbed surface adds a textural dimension to complete the overall effect. 100% cotton. Made in the Northern Mariana Islands (USA).

Ralph Lauren was born Ralph Lifshitz, on Oct. 14, 1939, in the Bronx, New York. His parents had immigrated from Belarus. His father was a house painter. In school, he sold ties to other students. He changed his last name to Lauren when he was 16. He dropped out of college. He started a small necktie business in the ’60s. By 1970, he had lines of mens- and womenswear. He won the COTY Award for his menswear collection in 1970. In 1972, he launched the now-iconic Polo shirt. He made the clothes for the movie The Great Gatsby and for Diane Keaten’s character in Annie Hall (also iconic).
