Special Edition 2006 jeans by Roberto Cavalli. Beautifully faded, with fashionable fray and lots of detail. Two front pockets – one with an inset coin pocket, and two back pockets. The pockets are made of animal-print fabric (visible from inside), in the Cavalli style. Front button and zipper fly. The button and the studs are engraved with the Cavalli R-double-C logo, and the back pocket has a silver plate with Roberto Cavalli written in bling (The London Observer once called Cavalli “the King of Bling”), and Special Edition 2006 inscribed below. There is wear to the silver plate (see photo). The high-quality denim has a soft feel. A hologram tag is attached. These jean have a great fit. Made in Italy.

Roberto Cavalli “helped define the aesthetic of the party-ready jet set when he launched his line of vibrant, sexed-up designs in the seventies,” said Style Magazine. “The Italian fashion designer with a gypsy soul” (New York Times), Cavalli was the son of a seamstress. Born in Florence in 1940, he dropped out of art school, turning away from painting to make fashion. Cavalli’s flamboyant fashions became popular in the 70s, lost momentum during the minimalist era, then regained popularity in the 90s. Cavalli has been doing fine since, with the addition of menswear and eyewear in 1999, Cavalli Jeans (later renamed Just Cavalli) in 2000, fragrances (2002), Cavalli vodka and wine, Cavalli Cafe and Club, and loads of publicity, like judging the Miss Universe Pageant, being the first fashion designer to lead NYC’s Columbus Day Parade (2003), and a commission to rework the iconic Bunny suit for Playboy (2005).
